Typical PAT testing label |
For some time now all Portable Electrical Appliances have needed to be tested regularly to ensure all measures are taken for the safety of its users.
The Government introduced a system whereby all such items would need to have regular "Portable Appliance Tests" and these are simply known as PAT tests.
When you book an entertainmnet service with our company that involves any Electrical Appliance you can rest assured that it will posess the necessary legal PAT certification. As well as actual products, Lighting effects, Amplifiers etc. every single power lead and extension lead has to be tested and have its own certification.
A log of these results are kept and are available for inspection if necessary.
By doing so we comply with the following Acts of Parliament:
- The Health and Safety at work etc. Act 1974
- The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- The Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- The Electricity at Work Regulation 1989
Most venues now for insurance purposes will not allow any mobile entertainer to perform with elecrtrical applainces if these appliances do not comply with the current legislation.
PAT testing can only be carried out by Qualified PAT Testing Engineers. Two of our members are now fully qualified engineers having attended the necessary training course undertaken by INSTROTECH LTD and as such we are responsible for PAT testing not only our own equipment but that of our peers as we help to achieve the maximum Health & Safety standards within the industry.
